No matter where you are in the world, you’re likely experiencing a lot of uncertainty right now. But as an entrepreneur, it’s also likely you’re choosing to feed faith over fear. Whether you’re using faith to push you forward or using fear as motivation, your business will prosper from the actions you take. If you don’t see your business thriving, two powerful letters can change your perspective: R & E. Together, these two letters show up in actions you can take to turn things around.
REbound
If your business isn’t where you want it to be, it’s time to rebound. It’s not just sports terminology, you can apply it to business. Webster defines rebound as “bouncing back through the air after hitting a hard surface or object.” Business ruts are only temporary if you find the motivation and courage to keep going. Don’t give up. Keep pushing yourself each day to see your business thrive.
REnew and REcapture Relationships
Have you thought about the people you’ve done business with in the past? Now that you’re entering the 3rd quarter, it’s the perfect time to renew those relationships. Reach out these customers, see how they’re doing, and let them know what you can offer them. But don’t stop there. Work on relationships with yourself, your team, and your squad—that is where true success begins.
REfresh
If you do the same thing repeatedly with your business, people will get bored. And guess what? When people get bored, they stop listening. Have you thought about refreshing lately? Keep your business exciting by switching things up. Incorporate new marketing tactics, think of new ways to communicate with your team and customers, invest in technology that’ll enhance your business practices. Turn your ideas into actions! A business refresh is never a bad idea.
REenergize and REjuvenate
We are well into the second half of the year, and you might need a bit more energy to keep going. Take time for rest and self-care. Doing this helps get you ready to reengineer yourself, your business, and your team. If you don’t take time to rejuvenate, you could experience burnout and lose your passion and focus which will negatively your business. I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: you are your greatest asset, treat yourself like it.
REfocus
Most importantly, refocus. What do the last 6 months of the year look like to you? You can sit back and put together a 60-day or 90-day plan, but hitting your goals and staying focused gets difficult if you’re tired and burnt out—all of the “R & E” actions work together to lead to refocus. Pay close attention to your needs, body and mind, and pay attention to the things you’re devoting energy to.
REady
Are you ready? Ready to win each call? Ready to win each sale? Ready to win each and every day? No matter what happens, good or bad, you must be ready for it. At the end of the day, you can only control what’s in front of you and your actions and efforts. You can’t control what the government, your employer, or other people are doing. You’ve got to make sure you’re ready for whatever comes next.
“R & E” are powerful letters, and together they can form words to make incredible things happen in your life and business. Change is evitable, but growth is optional—always embrace change. Remain a work in progress. We have to reinforce the behaviors that got us where we are today and establish new behaviors to push us forward. Always detach from the outcome and commit to the process. The process is reinforcing the little steps that will get you to your end goal.
Refocus and recommit to yourself—these are the keys to success.
